President and Vice President of the Republic Indonesia

Since independence, the Republic of Indonesia has 6 people new president, but vice president of more than 10 people. it happens because there is a president who served more than one term of office and each period is always a new vice president.

President Soekarno, who served about 20 years is only accompanied by a vice president of Drs. Mohammad Hatta. President Soeharto's most lots have a vice president because he served for over 30 years and every period of office is always accompanied by the vice president from different people.

I. Ir. Soekarno – Mohammad Hatta (1945 – 1967)

In 1956 Mohammad Hatta resigned, so the position of vice president of experiencing emptiness. The new position of vice president is replenished when the new order in power with the appointment of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX as a vice president in 1973.

II. Soeharto – Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX (1967 – 1978)

VIII. Baharuddin Jusuf Habibie (1998 – 1999)

When Soeharto stepped down in 1998 was replaced by BJ Habibie. Since 1945 (before amendment) does not explain about the vice presidential vacancy, the position remains empty. Habibie is a Vice President and also President of Indonesia with the shortest tenure.
